Water play, performances, and a day full of discoveries make the Children’s Festival a favorite part of summer in Yilan. The 2026 edition ran at Dongshan River Water Park from July 4 to August 16. A Forest of Play: The 2026 Theme
The 2026 festival’s forest theme brought nature, interactive technology, art installations, and light displays together. Dongshan River Water Park became a playful setting for exploring, splashing, and discovering.
During the 2026 event, standard admission was NT$250 on weekdays and NT$350 on weekends and holidays. Ticket categories had different prices. Children under six or below 115 centimeters tall qualified for free entry; age-based eligibility required proof.
Five themed areas offered different kinds of water play. Water Wonderland combined water and scenery, with separate adult and child areas. Mushroom Fountain featured large mushroom shapes with falling curtains of water.Yilan International Children’s Festival; photo by getreadybeyu Fantasy Tree Slides added winding water slides to the forest setting. Flower Garden Adventure used oversized flowers and plants to create a playful landscape. For younger children, Little Ones’ Water Forest offered a dedicated water-play space with parents alongside.

The riverside program offered a different way to enjoy the Dongshan River. With instructors, guests could try sailing, dragon boating, or kayaking and see the scenery from the water. River scenery from a ferry The river, green banks, and bridges gave the activities a lovely backdrop. Kayaking used same-day on-site reservations, while dragon boats and sailing used on-site queues.
The riverside experiences were included in festival admission. Dragon boats required a height of at least 110 centimeters; kayaking required at least 130 centimeters. Sailing had no height restriction. Children under 13 needed a parent to accompany them.
Most tower attractions: 09:00–12:00 and 13:00–18:00; queues closed at 17:40.Elf Camp: 09:00–21:00. Individual attractions had their own participation requirements.
The forest-themed tower area brought four different play spaces together. Ancient Tree Explorers combined Yilan’s history with physical play and interactive technology. Giant Tree Adventure included swinging bridges, a zip line, and inflatable slides.
Exploration Playground offered rotating rides and misty forest play, while Elf Camp welcomed guests until 21:00, with slides, tents, and lights after dark.
