Alongside these fifteen places, we have grouped a few stops into three outing ideas: mountains, sea views, and hot springs, culture and night-market food, and a relaxed countryside day. Distances and travel time vary, especially when visiting the mountains or offshore island. Choose a manageable  route and check transport connections. Local buses, taxis, or arranged tours can help travelers without a car.

Three Yilan Outing Ideas

Mountains, Sea Views & Hot Springs
Mountains, Sea Views & Hot Springs

Mountains, Sea Views & Hot Springs — Toucheng & Jiaoxi

For travelers who enjoy the outdoors, pair a coastal stop with a forest walk and time in Jiaoxi. An offshore boat trip may need a separate day, depending on the sailing schedule.

Stop One: Beiguan Tidal Park
Enjoy the rock formations and Guishan Island views from the designated paths.

Stop Two: Wushi Harbor
Discuss an island-view or whale-watching trip with an authorized operator. Landing needs advance arrangements , and sailing depends on sea conditions.

Stop Three: Linmei Shipan Trail
The 1.7 km  loop offers a wooded stream valley; allow time for the steps and choose it only when the trail is open.

Stop Four: Jiaoxi’s Tangweigou Hot Spring Park
Enjoy the town’s hot spring atmosphere and check which foot baths or bathing facilities are open. A local hot spring stay can give the day a relaxed finish.

A little planning idea: book the boat trip and any 401  Highland visit as the appropriate program. Keep the land itinerary flexible around the sailing time.
Fifteen Places to Explore in Yilan

A culture and night-market outing in Yilan

Culture & Night-Market Food — Luodong  & Yilan City

For a day of culture and local flavors, enjoy the creative spaces slowly before choosing an evening food stop.

Stop One: Luodong Forestry Culture Park
Explore the wooden buildings, log pond, and forestry history. Check individual  exhibition hours if you would like to visit indoors.

Stop Two: Chung Hsing Cultural and Creative Park
Explore the former paper-factory setting and the exhibitions open on your visit.

Stop Three: Jimmy Park
Near Yilan Railway Station, Jimmy Park brings picture-book characters into an outdoor public setting. It is a convenient stop around  a train journey or city walk.

Stop Four: Luodong Night Market
Explore  the food stalls in the evening, choosing from local dishes such as stuffed tapioca desserts, lamb soup, and savory snacks. Individual  stalls open and close at different times.

A little planning idea: use a taxi, bicycle,  or suitable local bus  service between stops. Check the connection you need and leave extra  time for evening crowds.

A Relaxed Countryside Day
A Relaxed Countryside Day

A Relaxed Countryside Day — Dongshan & Wujie

For families and travelers who enjoy a gentle pace, choose from animal encounters, lakeside views, and a green meal stop. Four stops are ideas to combine, rather than a schedule to rush through.

Stop One: Bambi Land
Choose the admission package  that suits your visit, then follow staff guidance for animal encounters.

Stop Two: Meihua Lake
Enjoy a lakeside walk, or ask local operators about bicycles and boat rentals. Choose the activity that suits your group.

Stop Three: LOHERB in Yilan
Enjoy the gardens, a guest bicycle ride, LOHERB Party’s café, or a meal at LOHERB Cuisine. For a stay, discuss the room  and meal package you would like. Room features vary, so choose the facilities that suit your plans.

Stop Four: National Center for Traditional Arts
Explore the craft streets, performances,  and hands-on  workshops available that day. Ask about any boat rides you would like to join.

A little planning idea: allow time  for travel between the countryside stops. In wet weather, choose an open indoor exhibition or workshop that suits your group.

A forest view, a local snack, or a little time beside the water—Yilan offers many ways to enjoy a trip. Choose a few places that interest you and let the day unfold at a comfortable pace.
